Pastor's Pen...February 2012
So many of our beloved friends, family, and church members have gone through tough times this past year! Some of these trials and/or troubles have been from financial failures because of the economy situation, while others have been from sickness and/or health related concerns, and yes, some have lost beloved ones in death. Reading through the Psalms in my daily devotion brought me to Psalm 107 the other day. Most scholars of the Bible know that this psalm was written to recount the deliverance of Israel from their sufferings they experienced during their seventy years of Babylonian captivity. The whole psalm is a classic on God’s triumph over man’s troubles. “We learn that for the child of God sad words are never the last words!” As you read this psalm, make sure you read verses 28-31, which shows God’s love and deliverance for His children. Remember, God’s ways are not our ways, and God’s timing is not our timing. (Isaiah 55:8-9) God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!
Let’s seek to grow in spiritual grace and in our work of love and service of faith for God’s honor and glory.
Faithfully Committed,
Pastor Ted O. Padgett
